How Lusarev was Created
The Beginning
2001 saw the establishment of Lusarev winery in the Aghavnadzor village of Vayots Dzor by brothers Murad and Samvel Sargsyan.
At Lusarev, we dabble in innovating and preserving the well-established technologies and traditions. As a result, we are able to create delicate and fresh combinations.
In our vineyards, which will soon cover an area of five hectares, we grow endemic grape varieties: Areni, as well as Voskehat. We harvest white grapes in September, red grapes in October, and manage the early harvest at the end of August or beginning of September. We get produce from our own vineyards, as well as source grapes from local residents, staying true to our mission of community involvement.
After harvesting, we transport grapes in crates to the Lusarev winery, where our specialists sort the grapes by hand, sending them for processing. Our modern equipment presses the grapes in small quantities, which makes it possible to bestow exceptional quality to every drop of Lusarev.
To preserve and age Lusarev wines, we utilize oak barrels, jugs and oval concrete containers for winemaking, all sourced from Artsakh.

Our winery
Armenia is one of the oldest countries engaged in viticulture. The local vineyards are located in five main regions: Vayots Dzor, Armavir, Ararat, Aragatsotn and Tavush. Aghavnadzor is located in the Areni community of Vayots Dzor.
In this atmospheric village, where the autumns are usually long and mellow, the sun is warm, and the people are kind, nature has created all favorable conditions for agriculture, especially for viticulture.
Lusarev winery is located right here, in the heart of Aghavnadzor. During more than 20 years of its operation, our winery has taken a beautiful and exemplary path of development. It has been completely equipped with the latest technologies that meet international standards and has turned from a small family initiative into a large-scale local production.
Lusarev winery enables consistent control over every stage of the winemaking process, from harvesting to bottling, ensuring exceptional quality of every bottle.
The Aghavnadzor residents make their contribution to the Lusarev winery, working with dedication and love, thus bestwoeing the Lusarev brand with a warm community, steeped in tradition and exceptional experience. Our specialists have come a long way in honing their winemaking skills, turning it into a new branch of art.
Our team includes both experienced local winemakers and consultants from the historic Champagne region of France, helping us combine international experience and local traditions.
